I have always been okay through my years of doing research papers and putting together what I need to come to a conclusion. I have always been pretty good at swaying people trying to see my with the things I gather and then show people all of it. When you are going to do a paper you need to as it says in the Hyland summary “making a suitable level of claim” That involves a good amount of information to make everything into one.
In your paper and everything you need to be able to site your sources and make sure that it is good. Then make sure that you are not claiming other peoples work as your own and doing to that you are making so that everything sounds professional enough for what you are making the paper for. You need to make sure that you have professional opinions and hard facts then you can add non-professional opinions. The biggest thing with everything in research is just making sure that everything is viable information.
