Innovating #12

This week we were to read and watch two things ones was of course project runway and the episode was the 7th one of the season then the next thing was to read and talk about and what we took away from “Where Good Ideas Come from”-Steven Johnson. This week the runway challenge was for JCPenney men’s section and some of the designers were not the most thrilled by this and I can kinda understand they haven’t really been hitting this ally the whole season.

Then we had to read from “Where Good Ideas Come from”-Steven Johnson and one of the main thing that I took from everything was the chart that I saw that had in it “Ideas, work spaces, organizations, settlements, information networks, culture. That was the biological scale for culture and that is how I see it with this show. You have to work with the culture of the show and be fit towards the audience. You have be in your workplace and have good ideas be organized and have your network to be successful.

The desginers got to work in pairs and some were doing more well than others and I could tell that this was going to be a bumpy ride for some of them and some others its was not going to be that bumpy. Brandon and Kentaro were the ones I was not that worried about and they worked through everything pretty well and I did like their fit at the end of of it all they put their heads together and killed it.

Then with the twins they are just sometimes hard to watch and I just don’t like watching them at some points. They are a lot and they like just being all over the place and sometimes just seem irrational. They can communicate with each other but I can tell when the other designers get annoyed with them and it can be quite amusing to see other people not enjoy their presence. When I watch some people and I feel like I am beating at a dead horse when I say this but some people just take criticism better than others. At the end of the day you are on this show to learn and be better designers, If you can not take criticism you will not be able to succeed. When you fail in this show you have to learn from your bad Ideas because no one just wins over and over again. The best and most successful people fail. That is where your inactivation comes from that is where your good ideas come from your failures.
